Well that little catwalk pic led to this place. It had some nice colors.

I like the colors, also. Is the "set" to the right for an interview? Those lights tend to draw my attention away from the fountain, but do add an interesting element to the shot.

thx ptax, yes they were setting up for some kind of video. Theyre very hard to get rid of ..for me..clone wise.

I wouldn't try to get rid of them. I think they give the shot just a little more mind candy.

ok..I think this is pretty close..if not perhaps the stairs in the background is messing with perception? the water line being deeper on the right than on the left? ?...or maybe I just didn't straighten it well enough the first dozen times

You're gonna hate me but I think the first one is the straightest.
I just think that all the vertical lines throw every ones perspective off a little.
Anyway, I like the shot and the colors are great.

nice find. i've been waiting for the right weather and right place ta' visit with my camera since i got it (a week now) But like everyone else, i do like the colors.
Do you think you could have done that slow exposure waterfall effect or was there stuff moving/going around in the background??
The waterfall effect that .. here, this will be easier..

Dazzling colors. The orange and blue (and purples) work well together. The geometry is powerful and elegant. The water is a nice addition, adding some motion.

I like how you straightened it. My only negative pt would be that the fountain is just so vertically centered ... I wish I could see more of the area above the fountain. This would mean that you would have to back out and then have to crop a bit off the sides. I think it's worth a reshoot to try it sometime if you aren't too far away from this structure. Great work.

thks Len, Greg, kem and GB. Here is the original and a fisheye to give some perspective. I thought it got a little busy up above..?.. In this shot I couldn't find a way to not center fountain..and I guess I love symmetry especially when manmade.

Rod - I totally see why you didn't include the squiggly neon in the top photo. On the fisheye however, I think it's worth an edit (crop, density, ..) with the neon in there. It may be a totally different photo in feeling, but it could be a great shot too.

Very nice work, Rod. I like your last edit best. If your using CS2 there is a filter that will straighten out the distortion from your wide angle lens and and that should take care of the curved pillarss. You can also use the transform/perspective or warp tools as well. Either way, I think it is still good as it is. the symetry is strong as well as the colors and lighting. Great subject done well.

Thx for the feature Gary, its been a while, much appreciated. I have seen the transform tutorial but havn't tried it yet. Working cs3 now.

Rod, in CS3 (should be like CS2 in this regard) go to Filters>Distortion>Lens Correction.
Then adjust the distortion correction amount. A setting of about + 2.00 - + 3.00 should work nicely.

damn, that was too easy..thx Gary! Will definately use that on some fisheye panos.
