    Skateboarder

Shot this one at the local skate park a couple of days ago. Manual focus set on infinity and sb800 held off camera to my right and about level with skateboarder. Just held the camera low and fired away. SB800 set to 1/4 power and triggered with pocket wizards. CLS just wasn't cutting it in the bright sunshine.

Great catch, his arm flung into the air makes the image.

I think you could crop this from the bottom for a more striking image.

    I like it.
    No, I DON'T need that.

Thanks for the comment MB. I like the arm in the air too. May try that alternate crop.

Caught him in a classic pose. The addition of the extra light really helped bring out his features which make the image.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Larry, I think getting the flash off the camera was key here. I've shot skateboarders before with the flash on the camera. It just doesn't work as well.

Great shot! Excellent view selection. I also think the foreground should stay. It adds a point of reference to the image and a strong baseline to the composition. (The background/trees could be a little softer to make the subject really pop out - a larger aperture would have fixed that or you could also do some selective blur in Photoshop... I'm being picky.) Nice job.

I'm thinking crop from the bottom to remove the steps or landing at the very bottom of the image. How far up to crop is your decision but you ought to keep quite a bit of the railing to show how far up in the air he is.
    No, I DON'T need that.
