    Visit to the Conservatory

It took MonkeyWrench in this thread to remind me to stop procrastinating and go see the orchids at the local conservatory. Sometimes it takes a visitor to remind someone that they have something special in the backyard

Anyway, with only a few days left on this exhibit, I was happy I went. The butterfly exhibit will be starting March 15th

I transfered my equipment to my backpack for this visit. I included my "tube" lenses (50mm and 85mm) but forgot my tubes Luckily I had my 180mm macro that I intended to use only for extreme close-ups. Fortunately it was not busy so I was able to use it for these close-ups from way back.

Incidentally, I used the live-view feature almost exclusively on my tripod-mounted camera. Both to check the critical focus and also to monitor the swaying of the blooms to time the shots.

Some more. These are slightly more agressive style shots.

Fun to look for different angles on familiar stuff.

    Thanks for looking.
