What a find! The shot was right there waiting for a camera to capture it. (However, many photographers would've walked right by it.) I'm not a big fan of square formats but this one really works. The diagonal staircase creating movement, the three windows that add stability and the semi-monochromatic color scheme that creates a mysteriously quiet setting. The only minor problem I have with the composition is the clashing focal points. The staircase leads my eye to the door but then there's the colourful mural of the winged, dancing girl that screams "look at me, look at me". Perhaps, in itself, that's what makes the shot so interesting.
Thanks for posting.

I really like the image, the 2dimensional aspect is really great. I think if you upped the contrast a bit it would bring in the colorful door and make things a little more interesting. I already love the photo, but i think this would add even more.
I think you did a fairly good job at capturing this. However, to me, somehow the geometry seems a tad off. I could be nitpicking but there does seem to be a little distortion.. OR it could be that the lines on the building itself aren't 100% straight (quite possible.....). Realize that I'm probably one of the harsher observers of straight lines. (I don't like any of my lenses in that respect (except my Mamiya 80mm), so I rarely do architectural photography!) The lighting is also a tad subdued, but it is ok here.
I would do a few more shots of this location if you have access to it, from different angles. It's a nice place. Maybe with some kids playing there.

Thanks everyone. I will try and boost the contrast slightly and see where it goes. This is actually beside where my wife and I are going to sign my three year old daughter up for dance lessons. She thinks she is Barbie the dancing princesses.
I am like Barney Fife, I have a gun but Andy makes me keep the bullet in my pocket..
I like this one too .. without the dancer, it's nothing - but with the dancer, it's everything! The one thing I might suggest (apart from the boost in contrast already mentioned) is to maybe crop it just a bit at the top (just above the window arches)?
