    My Backyard

This is Patton Creek in Hoover, AL. The amazing thing is, these shots are taken not 500ft from my apartment complex, and within a mile of a major shopping center and highway. But you'd never know it; it's absolutely beautiful and peaceful.

The last two shots are my first attempt at HDRI; nothing too extreme, but it definitely improved the images in such difficult light.

Very nice creek. I could see myself walking through it for hours on a warm summer day...

    Thanks for sharing these.

    Re: My Backyard

Knight - Photo Impression 4. It came pre-loaded on my HP desktop back in 2002. For its age, it's a pretty powerful program, but at the same time it's very easy to use. It certainly has its limits though, and even though I don't have Photoshop, I'm sure it wouldn't even come close. But it can do multiple layers at varying transparency and advanced cropping, which is what I used to create the HDR images.

Loupey - much the same my friend. Down here Saturday, when I shot those photos, it was in the low 60s. Spent a few hours hopping down the river from boulder to boulder, nothing but the sound of flowing water and the occasional bird to hear. It was a very welcome and relaxing change of pace. Glad you enjoyed the images... I can't wait to shoot it when Spring brings the foliage back in.
