    first photo restoration

This is a pic of my boyfriend's(Doug) mom's sister who died last year. Doug's grandma and mom really liked this pic but it had become very sun bleached and yellow. Being the only one who knows ANYTHING about photoshop I thought I would try my hand at it. Tell me what you think. The first one is the original the other two are before and after the final color correction. I am not sure if I maybe darkened the final too much or what so I need some opinion on this one. what do you think of the overall restoration?

I have no experience with photo restoration but this looks pretty good to me.
Did they want it to go b/w?
Can you tone down the bright spots on her shoulder and neck?

They did want b&w which was good because I don't know much about photoshop and trying to bring the color back when the color has all been sun bleached out would have been very hard. I tried getting rid of the extreme highlights but I just started getting too dark.

I've done a lot of this kind of would, once the colors are like the original unless you have to make it B&W then hand color it or photoshop the colors back in. If you are lucky the negative can be found.
