    Question re heron in flight

    I read that the herons fly with their neck doubled back like this:

    But what about this?

    I saw this big bird flying down from above, so I turned and tried my best to catch it. It was in a park by the harbor. Unfortunately, I concentrated too much to catch it and forgot to zoom in more. My lack of experience is showing, eh? :blush2:

    That's a great blue heron too. I do believe you have a GBH that was going to land and decided not to once it realised you were there.

    May be. It was heading towards a pond in the park. When I got there, it was gone, of course
