    Too much fun in photoshop

I don't know what to think of these except I have way too much time on my hands today and I wanted to try out the raw side of photoshop.... there was no saving the original pics So I made them into over the top artsy pics.. The first one was way out of focus. The second is a extreme crop. I liked the whole pic but I think that the crop tells a better story and the weird grainy b&w just made it look more interesting. What do you think? I find it so hard to judge art it is so objective.

Re: Too much fun in photoshop

They're both very interesting. The first is like an alien looking at an alien painting. Not sure the yellow works with me.. Too bright maybe, or too plastic looking. I wish I could see more of the fellow too instead of him being cut in two. But maybe since he's an alien, he doesn't have a bottom half? The viewer will never know.

I like the bottom shot more. I find the expression on the fellow's face and the way he's looking out at the environment, which represents what he's facing - snow, work, whatever is on his mind... It's an interesting shot and effect. The only negative I could harp on ( ) is perhaps he gets lost in the background due to the effect and brightness of the image. But still very interesting.

I'd say keep doing these experiments. They're worthy!

Re: Too much fun in photoshop

In the first, I see a woman looking into a nightclub setting...from the roaring 20s it seems.
    Doesn't do much for me.
I, too, prefer the second, though I could not elaborate on why.

    BTW.....Art is subjecive, not objective.

Not my style but for whatever reason I seem to like the color image. Perhaps since there is less detail I can mentally put more in it.......
    No, I DON'T need that.

Re: Too much fun in photoshop

Thank you for taking time to look at my silly pics and thank you frog for correcting my horrible grammar. I don't have a lot of time to go out and take pics so I figured I would have a little fun with the few I have. Just in case you would like to know, the top one was a painting on an old wall in an alley. here is the original, very out of focus.
