    little water_fern

    Hi

I would like to show you a picture of a very rare water fern that occurs naturally in Poland.
How do you like it? A separate fern is very little - 5 centimetre maximum one little unit. Have you seen anything like that in your countries, maybe in botanical gardens? Soon better pictures of Polish very rare (legally protected), little water fern (Salvinia natans) .

Very cute. They look like little moths and butterflies in the air.

Could be shot tighter to make it look a little more abstract. Have fun with them

    Hi

Thanks for your clues. I will try to take some more interesting photos of water fern soon (next summer). I don't have too many now cause it is dangerous to shoot this plant. It grows in deep water mostly and one needs special clothes to shoot it (boots before all). And even in proper boots such shooting is very dangerous - you never know if any mud on the bottom where you can sink . You know...

Ok. But I think it is a good idea to take a net, catch some water ferns, then shoot them and let them fly away back... why not? What do you think about it?

In the meantime another photo of Salvinia natans (that doesn't occur natually in US) and a nice landscape with two swans in the background. Believe me or not - these two swans (a couple) some minutes later were swimming around all this pond with their off-springs that were hidden in the thicket the moment I took the picture below.
Then I was shooting whole swan-family
Suddenly, however, the father-swan left his position, swam to the shore (where I was standing) and was about to jump out of the water and bite me. Really

I will never forget it .
I didn't expect peaceful swan can be so agressive. He was smashing his wings against the water surface and was screaming like crazy. I had to run away No kidding.

OK, I like #1 in this new set very much. A good combination of interesting lighting, duckweed, and the fern. But again I would go closer - much closer. In fact, I might not even show more than one complete fern.

Different viewpoint. But I'm more of a macro shooter so that's just me

    Re: little water_fern

I have never seen any plants like the ferns here in Canada before.

The duck weed seems to be universal. I really like those little ferns. I wonder if they would survive in our climate or if they would die over winter?

I am glad to hear that the Polish government is doing some excellent protection of their environment. I wish more governments worldwide would take such a stance to protect plants and wildlife native to their countries.

Hi ...sometimes Polish government makes something positive.
Nature protection is a very important element of human life. It should be.
Doth we all are dependent on natural resouces. And one day, when we are stupid enough, nature can kill us because of our own stupidity .

So be wise please when using nature
