    A picture from the parkway

I went up to the Blue Ridge Parkway on New Year's day, and this is one of the pictures I took. I'm pretty new to this, so lemme know what you think.

Welcome to the forum Keith. Nothing to critique here, I think it is perfect as it is. Beautiful scene composed very well. The clouds add alot as well.
    Great shot!

I'd like to see it a bit brighter unless it was like that when you shot it.

I agree that it is a nice composition and I agree that it is too dark.

Sometimes to get a first rate landscape (this image is close but not quite) you just have to stand around and wait for the perfect light.
    No, I DON'T need that.

Thanks for the responses. I had lightened this up a little in Photoshop before, but I can see where it's still pretty dark.

I think this is one of those shots that would benefit from one of those neutral density filters....something I need to get.

Re: A picture from the parkway

I think most of the picture is bright enough...a straight across the boards level is going to blowout some of these areas..I would layer the left foreground and the dark patch of woods behind and then boost levels slightly till you get a happy medium.
Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same!
    Thx, Rod

I would try flipping the picture horizontally and putting your name under the trees in the dark water.

I think upping the contrast a bit would do it for me.
