    Problem with Canon A1

    Hi all,

I have recently pulled out my old A1, and have found the shutter button won't work as it should and the "wind-on lever" won't wind. Does this mean the battery is flat or is something broken in it? I have moved the lever from L to A.

I do know the battery is flat, so maybe this is the problem?

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Dan

can you put the camera on "x" mode? if you can and still can't fire the shutter then the shutter is jammed. but try putting in a new battery before you throw it away.

What is "X" mode? How do I change it to X mode?

EDIT: How do you un-jam the shutter? Or is that a repair job by a pro?

Finally figured out what was wrong. It was the battery, so now I have a great film SLR to work with :-)
