    Wink Mountain and plain

    Hi

just curious to reactions on these. I know they were shot a bit late in day and suffer from usual issues with that, and a bit over sharpened (for me) due to an in camera mistake, but beyond those thanks.

Not sure what issues you are talking about for shooting late in the day, but thats usually when you want to shoot shots like this. I think the top one is the best, but the setting sun light hitting the mountin would really bring it out.

thanks, I meant they were shot near noon so hazy and harsher lighting.

    Re: Mountain and plain

I think that if in the first and third imaged you cropped out about half of the foreground you would have a much stronger "Mountain" theme and the remaining foreground and trees would be much more valuable.

In the middle image you should crop about 3/4 of the foreground.

Yes the light is less than the most ideal but here the slightly washed out mountains add a look of distance to the overall so it works.
    No, I DON'T need that.

The first and third are best but i do prefer this in color. I agree that cropping half of the fg out would really add alot to the composition. I like the washed out look of the mountains and the detail and tones are still very discernable. I really like the 1st shot alot.
    good stuff

Nice shots ph I going to have to go with #2 as my favorite. Only thing I might change would be to do some selective adjustments to the sky and mountains in the background to give them a little more contrast.

Congrats on the Sticky and Featured Photo

Thanks, and thanks for taking the time to reply. Cool maybe I'll experiment with that, I think they do need bit more work in the PP dept.
