    Smoke-filled skies in SoCal

I took a bunch over the last couple days, and this one's probably my favorite. My eyes are still irritated from being out there during this.

It is nice allright but I like it better with about half of the foreground cropped away so that fab setting sun and the sky are the main features. The water in the front is only a place holder and really doesn't add enough to justify all that space.
    No, I DON'T need that.

I'm not a big fan of most sunset shots but I do really like this one. It has great mood and stillness to it. Thankfully we have tons more to look at than a lot of the usually burned out yellow spheres. I disagree totally with my friend MB1 regarding a crop. Crop it and ruin it.

Wow I like it a lot! I feel bad for the Firefighters bustin' there ass out there. No way I could do that.

Great. The sky is so surreal.

The reflections in that lower third are just beautiful. I think they add a lot.

And am I wrong or are those reflections (bottom and lower left) strangely - wonderfully - complimentary to the sky in the upper right?

To me, the whole comp balances out nicely. I tend to think I like it as is. Just personal preference.

I was actually thinking about you. Hope everything is ok for you down there. If so, I look forward to seeing some Torrey Pines photos.

I like to try people's suggestions in this Forum, so here's a cropped version. I don't like it as much, as the coastline in the original balanced the image for me.

And here is another shot, but zoomed in to 200mm. The sun is more dramatic, but there's less sky (and therefore less smoke).

Yep. In LA. Not too personally affected by the fires. I hope it keeps away from you down there.
