    that's our Susie !

(wombat, the typist) I have to blow Angie's trumpet here.
This picture of Susie Stoddart she captured at Brands Hatch.
Susie's mother said "that's our Susie !" and indeed the whole family loved it.
It's captured her personality out of the car, relaxed, and enjoying herself.

How does it do critically ?

P.S. I'm doing the uploading while Angie's in hospital recovering from her operation.

There is a lovely natural and fresh appeal here. Perfect unpretentious and unprepared smile. It is devoid of the tacky glamour, flash, sexy posed sultry looks that are part and parcel of most female (and I'm sure some male) portraiture.
    Poor Overbeyond.

I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan

That is a nice capture but if you look her nose is right smack in the very center of the image. I do like the black background but I'm thinking that you should crop a lot from the left and a tad from the top and right.
    No, I DON'T need that.

Well the LZ5 I lent her had the centre AF point enabled so there's little choice ...
Were you thinking of a crop like this?

Yes, that is the sort of thing I had in mind, you could take even more off the top and right as far as I am concerned. Not to say that it isn't already a pretty good candid portrait as it is.

    Angie's getting better, I think.
Only a year ago Juan Pablo Montoya had to remind her to take the lens cap off

We still stick to the 3:2 ratio to make 8x12" prints for signing.
But I may move to an 8x10" crop for her on this one.
She's still un-techie so I have to do the pp for her (married to a geek helps).
