    Silhouette on the Susquehanna

    The composition is very good... but your colors are all out

    Fixing it in PS will do a lot....

    1st - Exposure: with Photoshop CS2 and later you can go to Image>Adjustments>Exposure - you will find that a setting of 0.27% is more than enough!

    2nd - curves : work the blue channel first, then the overall colors.

    3rd- With the Spot healing brush tool (CS2 and later) clean out the spots all across the water...

    4th - If you feel like you would like a darker blue then you can go to color balance and add some blue to the highlights....

    If you need to see the difference i can post it for you... I personally find it more informative if i try what everyone suggests!

    LOL! The colors were very flat to begin with. The water of the river is never blue,. it's a grayish white, steel-color if lucky. In fact, the color that is in the photo was added after the fact.

    I was going for an almost monochrome moody look... sort of a contemplative atmosphere rather than a "jump out and get ya" effect. It won't work for everyone!

    well at the risk of blasphemy..... it should be blue....looks better in blue.......

    The monochrome is there for sure!!
