    quick battery question.

hi, i just ordered a canon digital rebel xti , and i was wondering if the battery from the canon powershot s40 would fit in it. its a nb-2l (i have 2 extras from when i was still using it). the xti uses the nb-2lh...... so do you guys think it would work? also what are some good lenses for it, that wont break the bank? Thanks a bunch!

No, the XTi uses the NB-2LH battery.

Same physical dimensions, same voltage should work fine

I would check with a knowledgeable Canon guy at a local camera store before I did anything, in fact if you have a Canon service place anywhere near you, I would check with them. Just because they are close, does not necessarily mean they will work.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

    BP-511A = 1600mAh
    NB-2LH = 800mAh

'Tough' meant it was an uncompromising image, something that came from your gut, out of instinct, raw, of the moment, something that couldn’t be described in any other way. So it was tough. Tough to like, tough to see, tough to make, tough to understand. The tougher they were the more beautiful they became.

Ok lets get things in perspective

BP-511A is a different battery and shape so it won't fit.

    The NB-2LH is a 600 - 900 mAh battery depending on manufacturer
    The NB-2L is a 600 - 1500 mAh battery depending on Manufacturer

As long as the dimensions and the voltage are the same and the contacts are the same and in the same place then it should work regardless of the mAh - the higher the mAh the longer it should last if the charger can charge it to the full amount.

Not all chargers will charge the larger capacity battery to full power.
