    Spiderwebs and other backlit stuff

The other day we had a perfectly cloudless day - all day. So as the evening came, I grabbed the chance to get some backlit stuff.

All of these are with the lens pointed nearly directly at the setting sun. Even with the lens hood fully deployed (which btw the 300mm has a terrific built-in hood), the slightest movement would cause flare to show up.

BTW, these are the last images I will post for a while. I'm leaving tomorrow for a few days of salmon fishing with the guys in upper Michigan. No camera, no computer. So you'll know why I haven't responded after tomorrow. But you're in good hands with PaulNJ - he's been The Man for a lot longer and better than I

Very nice Loupey, the grasshopper is my favorite from this series.

I hope you have a great fishing trip. You're not taking your camera???

I agree. The grasshopper is tops. I can't believe you are going to leave your camera behind. Isn't that one of the 7 deadly photographer sins? :nono: Just how are you going to show us proof of the salmon you catch? You should have a great time. At least, come back with a good fish story.

Thanks, guys! Will definitely bring back a story or two - and hopefully more fish than that.

I know I'll regret not taking a camera. But I kinda want to take a vacation from everything. Besides, I have enough fishing gear to keep track of - I don't want to add more to that list

I'll try to use my phone camera to validate any "fish stories". Now I just have to figure out how to use it (only used it to photograph furniture and prices for the wife - seriously).
