    Reflecting Pool 2 Ways

Same deal, got up early looking for that purple sunrise. Too cloudy but since I was up and the sky had something going on.....

B&W or Color or should I just sleep in ?

BTW how do you like the way I got these with nobody in them. It ain't easy let me tell you.....

I like the color one personally.

However, it seems that the picture isn't level. If you look at the lines on the bricks as well as the slant of the waterline, it's not quite there. If you has PS/PSE there are tools to fix that really fast, or you can use a freehand rotate in almost any decent paint program.

It was where I was standing, if you look at the Washington Monument it is straight. I just needed to move to my left a foot or two.

    Yeah...

You should still correct it regardless. I think it'd do wonders for the picture.

MB - Yep, very nice, but I get nothing out of the bottom half of the photo, The tiling is pretty much a zero to the shot. Try cropping it out and do you have enough left to make it more of a horizontal shot??

Personally I like the color version in your post. The B&W just doesn't have the tonal range and looks underexposed. This last image is a better image over the first because it's looks better exposed. Even this last one could use some lightening.

I like the cropped version of both much better. I'd even crop a bit more so that the foreground concrete is almost all gone, except for a small edge framing the pool.

I like both versions but the B&W draws me a bit more. I would like to see a stronger presentation of the tones however.

MB - IMHO the 'cropped' version is 10x better. I showed it to folks here at work and they asked how you got no people in the shot? Guess you did it on a Sunday morning at 6:30 am (but even then I bet you had to wait for everyone to be out of the frame..)

I would perhaps mask the sky and add a little contrast to it, plus fix that small CW tilt I see here (it's only about 1/2 degree, but evident). Also, try posting the color version too!

MB I agree with what everyone said but I would go for the B&W and increase the contrast a tad.

I wish I had that amount of time to hang around

I like the crop off the bottom on this one but it lost the sun rays fanning out at the top. They're there but not as dramtic in this one.
