Unhappy Card Full error on Dimage A200

Help! I am a novice with cameras but I have a Dimage A200 that gives me a "Card Full" message everytime I turn it on. I bought a new card...the card is blank but I can't take any photos because my camera is reading it as Card Full. Any ideas or fixes?? Thanks so much! ~ Melanie

Have you tried using the camera's format command from the viewing menu?

Did you check in the users manual before purchasing the card? I've had software go batty when a register rolls over due to having more memory than software was written for. Some cameras will not support more than 512meg of storage, if they see more than 512 the internal OS register rolls over an the camera's OS thinks the memory card is full.

I checked the A200 manual online, nothing specific, just Compact Flash cards, or SD using a CF to SD adpter. Just like my A1 and A2.
