Yeah, I'm excited alright. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped me with information to make this decision. I am a terrible decision maker with stuff like this and tend to over research things to death. I was torn between the XTi, D80, K10D, and 30D (or 20D if I had to). In the end, I knew I lusted the 30D and finally bit the bullet this morning. GOt a refurb from Adorama with the kit lens (soon to be upgraded Im sure) for only $950! Seemed like a great deal so I jumped on it. FYI, they had a 20D with the kit lens for only $750 too. Anyway thanks and I'm sure you'll her from me plenty as I figure out what I am doing with this new toy.

Congratulations Scott! That's great news. I know what you mean about researching photography equipment. I'm somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to getting just the "right equipment." However, isn't it great when we make that final decision.

I'm looking forward to seeing your photos.......Have fun! We can all relate to that "twas the night before Christmas" feeling!

thanks guys (in a unisex sorta way of course). got the 30D and couldn't be happier. the ergos are just amazing and the 5 fps ain't shabby either. I am raelly looking forward to expanding my skills with this camera and will be sure to post up some shots as I take them...here's one from yesterday as I experimented with spot metering and AF servo...man are bees hard to capture!
