    Lake Superior

I rarely shoot scenics of any kind, but while on vacation, I couldn't find any birds to speak of or other wildlife. I shot this one of the big lake. I left the man and his dog in there for scale. What do ya think? Go ahead, I can take it.

I wish there was less sky and more foreground. Plus there seem to be some sort of digital artifacts in the image as if you satruated the color too much or enlarged a very small image.

    Re: Lake Superior

I had never heard of "digital artifacts" before. I think I see what you are referring to. Maybe there's pollution in the air? I have no idea what caused that. I shot it at 6 mp and cropped it very little. The only other PP I did was levels. I went back in to see if I could improve it. It's too late to do much about the comp. However, I believe I improved the sky and water. Thanks for the critique.

    Re: Lake Superior

you did smooth out the water, and lost the pixelation, but in exchange you lost some of the detail from the building reflection. i know there is a program you can use called genuine fractals through photoshop that will actually increase the dpi overall. what is the dpi resolution for this picture? it might just be a matter of bumping that up that would smooth out the picture and get rid of those artifacts...

    just a suggestion.

    Re: Lake Superior

It sure is hard to please you people. :cryin: Just kidding of course. You definitely studied the photo more than I did. I'm not quite sure what you mean by dpi. The resolution is 72 pixels per inch and the overall size of the original is 2512 X 1763 pixels. Of course I had to scale it down to 640 X 449 for PC viewing. Bumping up the resloution wouldn't really make it look any better, it would just print better.

Thanks for the input. I'm learning, thru C & C, to look at my photos a little closer.
