I found water!

I saw this young bird busy grooming in some of the last standing water around. Bay Area / Santa Clara.It's very dry this year.
Can you I.D. this lucky guy ? The reflections were great.Early morning.

I used a very old (film) lense. Tokina 75-300mm. All these were taken @ 300mm.

Pied-billed Grebe.

Nice find and nice shots. The ones in my area are all very timid and won't let me get within 50' without scattering. They also have a cool trick of being able to slowly submarine by compressing their feathers.

Thanks Loupey, :O) I kept my distance @ about 30 feet.The Pied-billed Grebe was not nervous at all, bathed away. I saw this one bird only. Are these birds like ducks?
