Nice Rick, I like how you placed the train in the shot. The B&W conversion is spot on too. It almost look like a model train.

wow that is actually what i was thinking,when people post pictures i like to stare at them first to draw my own feelings,the picture is so clean and crisp, and i thought it looks like a model set,no color to show the real detail if so,but yes great picture, i hope it is real?

The original was shot in color,but I forgot to change the preset WB from a previous shot.The color looked unreal.
I thought why not...I converted it to a simple greyscale to get this effect.

great shot. The BW treatment is good, very crisp shot, excellent composition and viewpoint.

This is a really nice B&W. I like the exposure and the point of view. This is one of those that you could blow up big, and people would not be able to stop looking at it. I think you nailed this one Rick.

I think you did a really good job on the shot... its definately a keeper... my one question is this though...

with your settings at 3", f/18... why not choose a slightly larger f-stop and get the benefit of your shutter being faster?.. the only downside on the image I see are the moving people... which may have been partially avoided with a bit faster shutter....

I really like the way the train is stood in the station and the people are moving instead.

I like this, and would echo that a slight faster shutter speed, might have helped the photo, but still could have slow enough to blur the people. Nice counterpoint of having the people in motion and not the train.

There is an odd vanishing point formed by the platform, the track and the train that falls in such a way that eye is not lead as well through the photo as it might be. The picture 'fans' out more at the bottom without detail and it lessens the weight of the presentation.

Other than that, this a type of photo to further explore!

Rick - Decent exposure on the train. I'm not sure why but the platform seems softer than the rest of the shot. I luv the way the background lights have the burst effect.

Very nice work, Rick. I think you were trying to get the starry lights effect ( and did) by stopping down your aperture as you did, but f11 or so could have done so as well. Nonetheless, a very good composition. The train leads my eye out into the opposite corner and into the blackness, where I'm then wandering about the other features visible in the shot.

Another reason to like BW. I don't know what the color version looked like, but the BW conversion as Mike would say is "spot on". I also think this is composed very well. I llike the lights, the angle, everything. Even the blured people.
