    Buddhist Nun-Angkor Wat

Peeking into the inner sanctum at Angkor Wat Cambodia..It is darker inside than this images shows. I had to crank the camera's ISO up to 1600ISO to get the shot. Ambient light handheld at 50th second.

That's a real nice photograph Jurgen with a nice solemn feel to it.. The range of colours on the altar are a perfect contrast to the more grey/blueish of the wall and background.
The more the merrier of these as far as I'm concerned.

I like the framing. I think that reducing the contrast a bit would create a softer, more "appropriate" setting and feel for this.
    It's a very good picture.

    Jurgen,

I like the composition but the picture seems a little harsh and I think I agree with Gary on reducing contrast to give a better atmosphere in this shot.

Thanks guys,,,,in a way I agree with Gary and Roger..In real life the colours of these altars are really bright and they stand out against the grey stone..In post processing I didn't touch the contrast..

In Cambodia the Khmer Rouge killed off most of the monks during their "Killing Fields"..The people secretly ordained women to take the place of the monks..

    Here is a desaturated edit..

    Re: Buddhist Nun-Angkor Wat

Looks better with a slightly reduced saturation, but the saturation and colors I have no problem with. It was just the overall contrast that I think looks a bit too punchy in this scene. Bringing up shadow detail and reducing highlights a bit is more of what I was thinking here. It's just a personal preference here, but just wanted to be clear on what it was I thought about this.
Having said this, I don't feel the picture actually "needs" anything more as it is very good as is.
