I don't know about anyone else, but I think the exposure is good. Like the shadows on the bricks too. I do wonder though, how it would look if you cropped a little on the right side to bring the edge close up on the column.

the scene looks very good. The shadows and earthy tones are pleasing to the eye. I agree about cropping from the right just close to the pillar. It keeps the scene focused on the perspective straight through and keeps me from trying to wander off outside.

I agree with the above and this is quite a good shot. Besides the crop I'd like to see the main figure either lightened or darkened. As he is now, he's light enought to also make out some detail but I spend too much time trying to see what I can't. If he were lighter, I might be able to and if he was darker I wouldn't try and just appreciate the human shape.
    Does that make any sense?

    Re: San Gabriel Mission

i like this. if i was there i'd try a few things though. i'd get down low to the ground and try to eliminate the trees over the left wall. it should also make the ground seem elongated and longer. and i'd wait for a person to be walking down (or up) the hall way, not out the side.

you got the metering spot on for me, and i really like the bar going across the top with the lantern on it.
