    Petals

Playing a little bit with my B&W conversions. Went for a subtler approach than normal.

Nice conversion, and nice picture. It gives it an abstract feel, and a texture that pedals don't have, I like it. Nice composition and fade too. I love all the little lines and shadows behind them.

    Re: Petals

Thanks again F-15 I usually go for super contrast on my B&W's but tried to be a little more subtle so I could bring out all the texture in the leaves. I'm glad it worked and that you liked the outcome. Thanks again!

i dont much care for the direct flash/light look. the harsh shadows don't do all that much for me and everything's a bit too grey.

I agree with you on the Grey part Brent. I couldn't get it corrected without loss of detail though. You are a lot better with PP than I am. How can I correct the white balance?

fair enough. As it has been evidenced, I am a strong supporter of high contrast images.

something as simple as a curves boost can brighten it up but if you pull the left side of the curve back down you will get the detail back.

Thanks Brent. Gave it another whirl with a combo of adjustments in Lightroom and PP. I know your not a fan of the shadows ;) but how am I getting on the WB?

Actually I can understand the greyness thing, in fact, I do like the higher contrast version better, but the flash/light look, and the shadows, was more what I was aiming at. ;)

    Re: Petals

well the term WB wouldnt really be applicable in this situation since you're shooting black and white but I like your edit. it looks much nicer than the original and my edit.
