    Swallows

Well back home from our trip only to find that i have no Internet service!! Aaagh! but i have managed to borrow a friends laptop just to say hi and catch up with the super pictures posted while i was away, all going well il be able to get back properly in the not too distant future.

Happy to say that May had brought the Swallows back to the river and after a lot of shots managed to get these.

    Re: Swallows

Wow bev those are some amazing in flights. I tried for over an hour on the swallows here and got exactly zero shots worth looking at. I'll try again. Practicing panning on the birds will only improve my race car shots I am sure.

Welcome back Bev. Great in-flights as usual, I love the wing position of the bird in the last image.

    Re: Swallows

    Well welcome back, Bev!

Love the first shot. From that angle, it looks just like our tree swallows (which I have not been able to get a good shot).

Makes me want to go out and give it a another go

    Re: Swallows

Thanks everyone and its good to be back, trying to get a decent shot of these missiles with wings is very frustrating sometimes but a great challenge., and as you mention Jaedon great practice with the panning technique.

Excellent as usual Bev! I like the first and last shots the best, though they're all cool.

    Re: Swallows

Bev, great shots as usual. Most of our birds have returned by now and a number of different ones have migrated through (Trumpeter Swans being the most notable). Have posted a couple of recent ones in this forum.

    Cheers,

    Re: Swallows

Thanks quetzal, Roger and Paulnj great compliments and appreciated.
Smartwombat thanks, and to answer your question i have been using both manual and AV for these, depending on the light situation, as one day it was very sunny and then the next dull and overcast.
