    My afternoon with a model

Yesterday I took out the tree trimmer and cut backa few branches and set up a photo stage for the birds to stop on around teh feeder. The first shot in the set is my hunting grounds. I hung a feeder in the tree with both seed and suet and then hung a bell feeder further down the branch as well. Hidden form view is a second suet feeder under the foliage.

My prey today ... the elusive Blue Jay. Know for their distinctive call and for having a Baseball team named after them that hasn't been playing very well of late *giggle*

There were 2 males stopping by for about a 45 min period. I had them sitting and posing for me. Heres my 4 favourites.

Thanks Knight. I like that one too. The one on the fence makes me happy and sad at the same time.....it's too bad I couldn't have gotten one shot that sweet when he was sitting on a branch. At least I know I will have more opportunities. I can hear them out there righ tnow but the sun isn't up enough yet for proper lighting. I think I should be able to nail a much better shot by end of day.

Nice shot Jaedon, wish the blue jays here would sit still long enough for me to take a picture.

Even though jays are common, they are fun to watch and you can learn alot about bird behavior by watching them. My grandfather and I used to make "bird puzzles" with our feeders. The jays would always be the first to figure them out and a blast to watch how they did it!!
    Nice shots:thumbsup:
