    Lovely springtime birds.....

This past week I've had a beautiful male Rose-breasted Grosbeak visiting my backyard feeders. A female was with him once but he's been around quite a few time already. I managed to get a handful of nice shots of him, he's an uncommon visitor around here:

Also went hiking to the local state park again this weekend and got a few shots on Saturday......

    male Common Yellowthroat, singing away:

Veery, hopping around in the woods:

And one of my favorites, the Scarlet Tanager. This is the best shot i got of him and can't wait to go back and try some more. They're hard to photograph b/c they like sitting high up in the trees:

Good job getting some eye detail from the RBG. I took a lot of shots of them today and you can't see their eye's in hardly any of my images. The other birds are nice too!

Copy kot - I had quite a few images as well where you couldn't see the eyes too well, these were some of the few that turned out the best.
    Thanks for the compliments all!

    Re: Lovely springtime birds.....

Really nice work Quetzal. I just had a RBG land in my back yard for about 10 minutes today and some other little yellow finch thing. I too had a hard time with the eyes. If you dont have the light in just the right place it's hard to get that sparkle.

Things sure are heating up nicely. Glad to see that you've had some colorful returnees.

I've been waiting to see a scarlet tanager. We now have 4 pairs of RGB's and I saw one indigo bunting yesterday.

Nice captures, Quetzal. High quality stuff!

Thanks all! Loupey - I have yet to see an indigo bunting this season but I'm waiting for them as well.
