    Battery life

I have a Nikon EN-EL3a battery that came with my new D50. I messed around with it last night for the first time, took around 50 pictures and loaded them onto my computer. I took the battery out of the camera last night because it drains the battery even when off.

Tomorow, I'll be taking probably around 100-150 pictures with flash. Will this battery make it through the day? I'd like to know how strong these batteries are.

    Thanks so much!

    Re: Battery life

I took about 90 pictures in a few hours a couple of weeks ago and still had over 80% left.
    Wasn't using flash though.
    Camera flash or external?

Have no fears at all on battery life! I took a little over 100 pics one night with the flash and my battery meter never even went down. I take about 500 pics a week on average and charge every week or week and a half. I have never even seen my battery meter go below half.

My D200 does about 400+ shots on the EN-EL3e WITHOUT using flash. Now it's not the same camera and battery as your D50, I do see what others have written - but I if were you I would take along a second, fully charged battery, just in case..

    D50 Battery Life

Its always good to have a spare...

But I usually get 500-750 shots per battery charge from my D50. I would guess that about 25-30% of those shots are with flash.

    Re: Battery life

Thank you all. A second battery will definitely be coming soon. We just didn't have the funds at the time of purchase. This is the first time I've never had a backup and I can't stand it, but the battery has lasted. I take it out when not in use. LOL.

    Thanks again.
