    City Fishin'

Here's one from this afternoon. The gentleman fishin' is passing through Rome on his way back to New Orleans. He left after the hurricane and was on his way back.

Nice picture Greg...Have you done much PP yet..seems to be some work on clouds and under trees behind bridge. My personal opinion...is to see the water darker.

Fishing seems to be a popular subject lately. This spot seems familiar re:Rufus.

critique wise I guess I'd agree with jkr.

Hmm. A lot of stuff happening. I love the sharpness and the overall relaxing color scheme. But the wires sort of ruin it for me.. I always try to get them out of my pix, but of course you couldn't have here. The people on the right add a nice touch IMO. Not to harp on this, but I do like the bridge, reflection and people, but feel that the wires really add a sense of civilization where it would be better off as a true 'out in nowhere ' shot. Guess I'm a nature lover.

jkriminger, Really just trying to balance the lighting is all I have done to this.
Frog, Rufus's spot is about a 1/2 mile behind camera from here. I do see a lot of fishing pictures here lately something must be biting.
GB, I agree totally with you on the powerlines. I have walked away from many great subjects due to them. What's a city slicker to do? LOL

I think you have a fine shot here, Greg. Yes, the location/scenery is less than ideal for that beautiful, picturesque landscape shot. However, working with what you have around you I think you pulled away with a treat anyway. The framing is good and the scene speaks to me. Nice work.

It's a nice shot - very restful. The power lines don't bother me at all - they define the context that this fishing spot is near urban development - who says fishing can only be done in virgin forest? City slickers are allowed to go fishing too

Thanks Gary, Thanks Mike, I have been wanting to put more people in my pictures. My heart really went out to this guy. He has been drifting around the Southeast since the hurricane. He said he loved to fish, wanted to know if I knew any good spots......
