    The Nuthatch & Greenwoodpecker

Whilst i was away i was fortunate to find where the nuthatch was nesting, so finding a good hide inside a laurel bush id sit for hours sometimes, waiting for this shy little bird to appear, it paid off, although it was an extremely sunny day and i would of liked a better positioning but the one i had faced the the hole, and on the second visit all hell broke out when the Green woodpecker decided to inspect its hole, not a happy nuthatch, its an extremely vocal little bird and highly territorial.

Thanks Paulnj, Copy and Big Baldo, the Green Woodpecker is quite common over here but that depends on where you live, they are very very shy, i have them were i am but i really have to go out and look for them, especially the Green, the greater spotted is another one of our peckers along with the lesser but the lesser spotted are quite rare here, and to get a shot of one would be fantastic.

Copy il do you a swap!!.
