    La Jolla Cove

At first I didn't like this shot, but its kind of grew on me, so I figured I would post it and see what you thought of it... BTW, how are you guys posting shots larger than 640 X 640?

    Re: La Jolla Cove

Hosting them else where in Imageshack or Flicker or photobucket will allow you to link them larger than the gallery sizes here.

I love La Jolla. I have been there a few times as a kid and I plan on brinigng my kids out there to see it at least once in their lifetimes.

The image has some very nice qualities. The birds and the breakwall really give a sense of scale to how big the scene really is. The rocks in the foreground give a sense of depth as to how high you are up from the ocean. The one thing that really bugs me is the position of the horizon is a bit to centered for my liking. But overall I think it is an eye pleasing image.

Only nitpick -- the structure at the far left of the frame. I think if you cropped that or cloned it out, it would make for a cleaner image. JMHO.

I agree with both Jaedon and Swmdrayfan. The horizon needs to be moved away from the center and the structure on the far left should be cloned out. I like the image.

Well, since I do not have any other place to post my pictures, I generally upload a photo to the PR gallery first. It makes three versions in your gallery: a full size, a medium size, and a thumbnail. Then, in your message posting you can embed a link to any of the three stored in the gallery. I generally choose the medium format, and sometimes add a note that there is a larger version in the gallery. Not sure this is the best way, but it works for me...

Thanks for the feedback. I like the idea of getting rid of that structure. As for the Horizon... I will play around with it.

Eagle - Perhaps a little too much sky with not enough going on up there. Somehow the pic looks over processed to me, too... did you do anything to it? Maybe it's the contrast - seems extreme to me. But it also looks surreal in the neat way. I guess some people will love it and some won't.

Actually, this is one of the few Photos I didn't mess around with too much, like I said, I didn't like it at first so I didn't mess with it much. I cloned out the building in PS... but I think your right, that sky is just... bleh. Maybe it is because the sky is darker than the water that it doesn;t look right. Ah well... thats why I posted it... feedback

I looks to me as if your camera exposed for the bright water and left the rest of the picture under exposed. If you had shot his in RAW you might could fix it?
