    Through the Garden Wall

Hi all ... this afternoon I went to Polesden Lacey, which was a home and garden owned by a very formidable Edwardian lady. She left the place to the nation when she died, so it is a popular place to go for a visit and the gardens are lovely. This one was taken through a hole in the garden wall, looking toward the gardener's cottage.

As always, any comments are appreciated.

    Cheers
    Mike

beautiful. The contrast between the red wall framing the shot and the scene on the other side is excellent. This was composed perfectly IMHO

Very nice...the interior has a surreal look...and its not like looking through a giant donut ..which seems to have become popular as of late. I like!

 To me it is I guess I'm just not a fan of this kind of image. They seem self-defeating.

I will say that this is probably one of the best hole through something images I've seen.

Very nice shot Mike I love the architecture of that time period. I'd be interested to see some more shots of the manor if you have any ;)

    Re: Through the Garden Wall

Thanks guys for your encouraging comments. Fact is though that it is such a lovely garden that it would be hard not to come away with some good shots. Unfortunately I didn't take any shots of the house itself because there were too many people about - so I concentrated on details. I will be going back in June or so when the gardens really will be at their best. Incidentally, George VI and the Queen Mother (the one who died a few years ago) honeymooned there.

    Cheers
