    experimenting

I have been giving this fisheye a lot of work....most don't stay on the computer too long. I like the clarity of the interior here...shot through a hole in a tree. Of course the subject matter isn't too appealing..less you like grills and garbage cans

    Re: experimenting

Sorry but this doesn't do anything for me. I feel like I'm looking through a giant artificial donut. It might be a little better if the image was given a vertical or square crop so there wasn't so much of the tree being a distraction.

    Re: experimenting

J - I personally like it. The area back there is interesting enough, the palms seem to make it.

What I would do however is sharpen up the shot, maybe even just the tree. It's blurriness is distracting to me. There might also be too much of it.

It sure looks like a nice day back there.

    "a giant artificial donut"

    Awesome...that's brilliant.

I like this shot, it's unique and it works for me, tighter crop might be good too, I'm not sure if fisheye is necessary for this shot

    Re: experimenting

Well I hope the OP does not think I was trying to be insulting. I think the old saying "first impressions, are lasting impressions," is very true. When I first saw the image, I was reminded of the huge donuts that were found over some donut shops... It's because there is so much of the tree in the image. The image is filled with about 2/3rds of the tree, and about 1/3rd of the 'main attraction,' when it should be the other way around.

Don't mind me, I'm probably just digging a deeper hole for myself...

i laughed when I saw the donut comment..your right...I've given up on this one...depth of field killed the donut. Heres original...I agree it didnt need fisheye..but thats what was on the camera

    Re: experimenting

the original's better. more of a complete shot. I like it, but it doesn't do anything spectacular for me. Just another good shot.
