    I really like the fence background in the first one ... but the lighting on the bird in the 2nd one is excellent !!! great job on both !!

    I agree with Ben - the fence works nicely with the first. By chance is it a crop of a wider shot? Perhaps having both edges of the fence board would give it some symmetry (instead of just the right seam).

    Thanks very much everyone for the kind comments. Very nice of you all. Both images have a slight crop but not much. I had to go back to the original to verify. The tech. data on image one is: 1/500 @ 7.1 ISO 200. Image two is 1/500 @ 6.3 ISO 200. Thanks again.
