    The Heronry

Went back to the Heronry on Sunday to see if there was any action about, and they were there busy tidying nests and bringing nest material back, and hopefully it wont be long before the young start showing in the nests, so a re-visit is on the cards again, hopefully when the sun is out.

Once again the weather was overcast, so sorry no blue skys, all taken in manual.

Nice flight shots, you must have a ton of patience. You titled it Heronry, is this place a popular nesting spot or something similar? Around here when they nest, it isn't hard to get within feet of them.

    Excellent series, as expected

Manual again?! Look at you - like Copy said, I think you've fully manually converted I figure a few more weeks of this and your lens and camera knob will get stuck on "M"

    Re: The Heronry

Thanks everyone, once again i do appreciate your comments and feedback.
In answer to Payn817 and Knights question re nesting times etc, the place is actually a fishery, Carp and Fly fishing lakes, and in the middle of two of the lakes are islands with trees, and somehow the Herons and Corrmorants have made it their homes, masses of them gather there and between February and May is their breeding times, apparently the young stay in their nests and only venture onto close branches upto 50 days from hatching.
Payn817, i wish we could get close to these Herons, they only have to see you half a mile a way and they are gone! and this is quite suprising as this fishery is in London, Walthamstow to be exact, a very built up community, but once your at the Lakes its like entering another world.

Loupey il be honest and 99% of my shots are all manual now, it just seems to be that way, the only times iv been using AV is when i have been photographing action shots with the dogs for customers.
