    Yippee... it's spring!!! :)

    It’s SPRING!

A lucky one-handed shot out of my passenger window (I was almost stopped). Shot with my 300mm and 1.4X TC.

A green stinkbug taken with 300mm and full set of tubes.

Some kinda fly, 300mm and full set of tubes.

A wooly bear caterpillar, 300mm and 1.4X TC (shot in macro).

And a woodchuck, I couldn't get a shot without branches or weeds in the way.

    Nice images!

We are just now starting to see insects and spiders here. The tree swallows have arrived! No successful in-flight shots of those yet.

You remind me that I have to start carrying tubes in my other pocket while out hiking.

I have a feeling that this forum is going to have a whole lotta posts this year Hope we don't overload PJ's system

Super series of various different subjects which is good, especially like the Woodchuck, are they a relative to the Beaver?

    Re: Yippee... it's spring!!! :)

    Thank you Karen and Bev.

Bev, I guess woodchucks and beavers are relatives since they are both rodents, but I'm not sure just how close. Woodchucks are also called "groundhogs," and "marmots." They are the same animal in the movie Groundhog Day (with Bill Murray).

Useless trivia about woodchucks : When they are not hibernating their hearts beat at 100 beats per minute, and when the are hibernating their hearts beat at 4 beats per minute. In the state of New York, woodchucks are responsible for turning 1.6 million tons of soil each year. I now return you to your regularly scheduled forum
