    More Egret and Oyster catchers

Another morning down on the river bank, this little egret was quite active and the oyster catchers made their way back and forth while the tide was out.
I know i have posted these birds before and Egrets are a little plain, but i do love stalking and practising my fieldcraft with them, hence more than enough shots of them!
    But thanks for looking.

Bev, love the white-on-gray of the egret inflight. Had it been a blue sky, the whites would be blown or, conversely, the blue would have to be too dark in order to expose for such lightly colored birds.

Your oyster catchers must be like our killdeer - easily provoked into flight

As always, thanks for sharing these.

I love the oyster catchers! And, I don't think the egret is plain... they are beautiful birds. Very nice Bev!

Re: More Egret and Oyster catchers

Thanks Terryger, Copy and Loupey for looking, and yes i find a more overcast day better for photographing white birds, but i find these birds or any white birds against a blue sky harder to meter for than say a swan on a river on a sunny day?
The Oyster catchers are extremely flighty, and they are very clever making sure they fly on the opposite side of the river when they pass, then come back to the centre line in the water.

Nice series. The egret isn't boring at all, I just drove like 5 hours (one way) to see some. I'm afraid to post now, they're not this good.

Oh Payne im sure your images are great, Post Them!!

Perhaps its wrong of me to of said that they are boring, nothing is boring in its own light, its just that we have many Egrets here, although very shy birds, i suppose its like some of the other people here having Eagles and Hawks on a more regular basis. Il retract those words.
