    Train Rust

Taken on Kodachrome 64. How do you feel about the composition here?

Nice simple composition paired with dynamic, gorgeous colors.

I'd like to see a wider view, specifically more room on top and to the left.

Mr Yuck -- Thks. here's another version. I wish it was wider too, but the plate ended just to the left (see the "train flyby" post I made last week..). It was a bit of a challenge to get these beause my tripod was at its max and I didnt want an angle if I could avoid it

Beautiful selection of colours here GB and a very nice detail you have captured.

I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan

I like #2 more, adds depth as you took it at an angle, yet retains the simplicity and beautiful colors, the room above the handle or whatever it is really helps.

I like the composition on #2 better as well. I like how the lines in the box car leads the eyes thru the shot. The colors are great and perfect exposure.

Thanks everyone. I guess # 2 is superior... just has more to grab ahold of.

I think old trains are gold mines for this sorta stuff ... if you can get near one w/o trespassing and not getting run over. About 2 min after I snapped these a whistle blew (after the "flyby") and the train started moving.
