    Noisy, but what ?

They're fairly unconcerned by people in the city, and LOUD enough to be heard over the traffic one block away from the strip here in Las Vegas - what are they?

That's a Grackle. There are two species in the US: Boat-Tailed & Common. I can't tell the difference and tend to assume they are all common...

Boat-tailed grackle. VERY loud, and they chase the little cute birds away.

I could be wrong, but I think the eyes are different on common grackles...the ones here have yellow eyes. My daughter says they make it sound like the jungle...lol.

Editing to say: This is as far as telling the difference...I think Paul's pic is a boat tailed one as well.

Looks V-tailed in flight from the rear, could look like the hull of a boat I guess.
    Thanks !

I nearly told P-J it was a grackle, but thought I'd ask the experts first.

It's a boat tailed grackle that Knight postedmand the US has 3 species , the 3rd being great tailed grackle.

Your grackle is a GREAT TAILED GRACKLE from location and the size of the tail(I can see the suttle differences too)
