Another gorgeous night. Just have to be out on a night like this.

This type of shot into the sun, requires either a filter on the camera or a couple of shots from a tripod and postprocessing. Unfortunately the sky is washed out in parts, despite the boardwalk having at least some detail.

What type filter would you recommend to calm down the sky? I took a few shots with a polarizer that helped but I lost detail in the darker areas with that. Any suggestions would be great.
