Two from Cocoa Beach.
Now if you ever take a walk down Cocoa Beach in Florida you can expect to meet up with a few of these guys. If you dig around a bit you can find these little crabs, this one was found by a little girl digging with a plastic shovel and pail , was she surprised lol .
The Stingrays if thats what they are called are found all allong the beach . So dont be suprised to see them if your walking on the Oceans edge . They are brought in with the waves . This one was not so lucky he had to wait a few minutes before there was a wave big enough to reach him.Usually im told they dont get stranded for long . I must have seen 20 to 25 of them on a 2 mile walk , they are mostly on the edge of the Ocean flapping away in shallow water.

Cool shots. One of my best friends has an aunt who lives in a condo right on coco beach. Her hubby is a Dr. with NASA. Their neighbor is/was George The Animal Steel.

Oh the poor stingrays! Is it normal to see so many on a short walk? I wonder if a school of them was misguided - like the whales that beach themselves accidentally.

Re: Two from Cocoa Beach.
Wow, great shots. My grandparents and now my parents have lived in Cocoa Beach since the early 80s and I have never seen a ray washed up on the beach. I have seen quite a few brought in by fishermen though.
I will be heading there for my kiddos' spring break in a few weeks and I will be stopping by the Black Point Wildlife Drive (on NASA land). I have always enjoyed the drive for both bird shots and gator shots ... and other animals too, but they tend to run into the shrubs to avoid getting their pictures taken.

Now there is a picture I'd love to see. George the Animal Steel. Oh, yeah.
I REALLY like these pics, though.

Great captures Glen, love the crab, looks like he's posing for you!
Great to hear these rays get back in the swim, but what an opportunity for you.
Just the name "Cocoa Beach" sounds heavenly!
