It's Only March, But What Do You Do?

A couple scenes of San Diego in March. The locals go to the beach. Also, it is Pupping Season, the seals are birthing right on the shore.

    Hope you like them.

Re: It's Only March, But What Do You Do?

at first I thought, "these dont go well together, and then I thought...from certain angles, the subjects look the same.

*sorry...that was really sick of me*

#1 is good, like the composition and expression. A bit washed out? Levels or curves adjustment would probably help this.

#2 is awesome. Great action, composition is perfect, I like the blueness. Awesome water spray.

Ditto on the post above. I was thinking the exact same things and I scrolled down and thought "how the heck did mr yuck read my mind like that"? lol

Nice job CF my only nitpick would be the surfer looking like he's gonna crash out of the frame....but most of my car racing shots look just like that lol.

    Jaedon/Yuck:

Thanks for the comments. Maybe I should have either posted them separately or given the Thread a different title. They only go together in that they were both taken today, at the same shore line.

I appreciate your comments just the same.

I'm jealous, CF. It is still ice and snow where I am and going down to minus 24 tonight.

    Ron,

EXACTLY why I am here. I moved here from Minneapolis 35 years ago. If I ever see a snow flake again it will be too soon.

Thanks, Yuck. Thanks for the support. I never thought about whether they worked together in the same thread. I took them within minutes of each other; I was thinking about where they came from more than the presentation.

That and it's March, 80 degress, and people are surfing while Don and Ron are freezing.

    Just a thought.

I really like them both. The seal one does have something strange about it but I'm thinking it may be the hue of the water perhaps? But hardly anything that truly takes away from the image. He's precious!

Love the second one. The wave is incredible and you've done a great job capturing. I like it that the surfer is heading out of the frame. Makes it look like he's being launched out by the force of the wave.

Re: It's Only March, But What Do You Do?

Dear D, period.....D., just D. of the female persuasion: thanks very much for the comments. At this time of year the seals are birthing and taking up a great deal of the beach area in La Jolla. The little ones are pretty amazing. I took this last Sunday, it was 80 so the beach crowd was also doing its best to leave the seals alone and enjoy the day. Thanks for commenting. I appreciate it.
