    light meter question

    ok so i have a Nikon FM and the light meter is kinda acting weird so heres the problem

    when i change the shutter speed the meter light moves up and down like it should but when i change the apriture opening it dosent effect the meter at all.

    like when i move the shutter speed it will go from this

    but if i change the apriture it dosent effect it so i dont know what is up with it

    ok i found out what the problem is but i dont know how to fix it when i put the lens on the camera body the lense dosent catch the i dont know what its called umm the ring that turns rite behind the lense so ne ways when i cange the appriture the lense dosent connect to the ring so it wont turn when i change the appriture last night i took off the lense and just turned the ring and that effects the light meter so it has to be this i dont know what else it would be is there ne way i could fix this or is ther no hope for my camera?????

    Andy I'm not familiar with that particular camera. Have you tried a different lens to see if it mates properly? I think you need to first determine if it is a lens or a body problem.
    Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    If the camera body controls the aperture, then set the lens aperture ring to wide open before attaching it to the camera.

    i have tried many different things like other lenses and opening the apriture to the largest openings soo i dont know what the problem is i asked the guy i got it from and he said that he had no problem with is soo i dont know i think im gona take it in to the camera shop that fixed it for me when the shutter was jammed so i think they will be able to tell i will play with it and see what i can do i hope its not the body or the lenses cause i just got the camera like 3 weeks ago

    so it dosent look like i will be able to get it fixed this weekend because of the weather so that sucks im gona be sooo behind in class o well this sucks
