    Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve

I had a short walk through the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve this morning. I was only there for a little over an hour. I'll get there earlier when I go back. Sun light was too harsh between 10 and 11 o'clock. I'll wake up earlier next time

    Snowy Egret

Hummingbird. I don't know what kind though

I have a little bit more to share but I'll have to post it later.

Aren't you too young to be out on your own?

This is a young duck, right?

    Re: Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve

Thanks Loupey! I don't get to post here as much as I would like since I stop going to my regular nature spots. There was no action over there but I discovered I've been going to the wrong places. There is an audubon society in my area and their website listed this location. If I join their field trips, I will get into locations closed to the public. They have field trips almost every week! Anyway, I'm just excited to get back into nature.

Here's another one of the hummingbird. I had to cheat a bit by dodging around the eye due to heavy shadow.

Here's the last one just for the sake of getting a close up this hummingbird with the green sheen. I hope the next time I go back, I'll catch a blue heron in flight. I also need to wake up earlier

LOL! He doesn't look very happy in your second post.

As for "dodging around the eye due to heavy shadow", that's a no-no. Sorry not allowed here, you are hereby banished. Goodbye.

    Joking of course!

    Re: Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve

Thanks for the bird ID Paul! I'll stop guessing next time. There might be elementary kids printing this picture off the interent calling it a duckling and getting a 'D' for the project. Oooops!

Thanks Copy_Kot. I'm thinking of getting the 300mm L IS f/4 that you have. Will probably get the 1.4x. We will see.

Farewell to the nature and wild life forum since Loupey has banished me....I KNEW I SHOULD'VE WOKEN UP EARLIER!!!

    Heheheheheh
