    i dont know what model i have

    i have just jumped into the world of slr cameras i just got an older nikon and i dont know what model it is but i just put a new battery in it and i think the light meter is messed up cause it dosent matter what i change the shutterspeed or apriture to its always reading really weird mostly and the too much light side so if someone could explain this too me i would appreaite it

    If by chance you can get a digital picture of the camera we could help identifying it.

    if the light meter changes when you change the shutter speed or aputure, then you might have the exposure comp set, depending on how old your camera is.

    i just reasearched it its an fm and the meter is still acting kinda funny and i its really dirty how would i go about cleaning it i have spots when i look through the view finder but not on my photos but when i look through my lense when its not on the camera it looks kinda hazy but the photos are fine

    I've got an FM as well at home.

    With dust showing in the viewfinder and not on the prints you've got dust either on the mirror, or in your viewfinder.

    Also it sounds like you need to clean your lens off

    The dust could also be on the focusing screen. I have heard they are very delicate, so don't touch it. A little bit of air from a blower like this will blow it off of there.

    the eagles are great a little north of here, when i was going to lacrosse last week i saw tons so i think you will have a good trip the dirt on my lenses are like inside i tried to clean them with lens paper but there still kinda hazy
