    Dinner morning

Took this one over breakfast. C&C very welcome.
There is something about dinners that are just fascinating to me

    Re: Dinner morning

It took me a minute to realize what was going on. Looks like the little girl has the father wrapped around her finger and is running the show, Nice capture. I have a two year old daughter and know what it's like...

    Re: Dinner morning

Well here's the thing... the moment is great, the capture spot on...

In matter of the image, i think the flash here was bit on the strong side... and the comp could use some fixing....

In any case, here's the rough version of what you could do (I did not go through too much as i think it better if you fix it the way you would like it)

First off I cropped some elements i though distracting... then i fixed the levels... I usually fix the levels, by using the eye dropper tools available with the levels dialogue box in PS... use the black (the one to the left) to choose my black point...the white (the one to the right) to select the white point...and sometimes use the grey...or simply move the slider according to what i see as good!

I also tried to Burn the little guy's head where it seems to tend towards the blown out part! not much could be done there!

I like the expressions and the capture....so here are what i thought would benefit the image!

I like the color adjustments, and I'll try to find how to do it with aperture/gimp.
As far as the croping though, I think it takes away from the dinner scene. I did not really want to just have the family. I also like the red seats and the guy in the back.

Thanks for your work, it opens possibilities!

I like Marcus's crop because it removed the space on the right and the half man on the left. The attention is stronger on the trio and the misc waitress in the background helps strengthen the theme.

Good overall scene of a family at a casual rest. Almost counts as one of those All American photos (but could be anyplace, of course). I wonder how it would look with a tighter crop also, just the back from all three... B&W version too?

    Here it is modified!

I feel that with the different colors, it gives it a timelessness

Veg - All versions look good to me. There might be just a little too many things happening in the original that can be classified as distractions (as the father and daughter are obviously the star attractions here), but at the same time, I miss the objects that were cropped out. Sort of a contradiction.
