Thanks Copy & Paulnj, yes my garden is swamped with starlings and sparrows and it becomes somewhat dreary at times, but i have my regulars, the hand tame ones which have become part of the daily fixtures, but now you can understand why i go nuts when a sparrowhawk or Heron decides to make a call!

The snow has gone now and we are left with slush and heavy fog! and having a day off work i was looking forward to going out with the camera! Aaargh.

Nice images Bev. I just drove 16 hours from Toronto to Atlanta to get away from teh snow we finally got. Buffalo, on the south side of the lake fom home, has had 7 feet of snow in a wek and 24" more were expected today. Poor buggers will be digging out still when I return home form florida lol.

Thats unbelievable Jaedon, but i bet they cope and get on with it, unlike us Brits! we have 4 inches of snow and the place goes into panic attack! mass buying of groceries, roads come to a stand still, businesses and schools close, etc etc, but boy do we get excited.
Its the one time i can say that everyone comes together, because you have to walk everywhere people stop and talk, children mix, and build massive snowmen even if it is for one day! then the next day when the snow has gone, you can pass that person you had a great conversation with as if nothing ever happened.

    Strange breed us humans!

Re: One day of Snow at least.

lol 4 inches? sheesh.... silly brits!

Seriously though that is even more snow than Buffalo... the snofall capital of the US ... is ready to ahndle. When stuff lke this happens out City of Toronto usualy sends in a brigade of plaws and trucks to help dig them out. Hydro crew too to help restor power. Heck Igot sent one year to relieve some of the Transit Drivers. They should be dug out in a few days though. I bet the kids are loving the day soff school. We went through Buffalo on the way across teh border but we got out of there as fast as possible as the next snowstorm was brewing on the horizon and we did not want to get caught in it.

Link to CNN report on teh snow in Oswego County (just east of Buffalo):
