The 2 pics posted are the same (obviously).... taken from a series of shots i took of a street, from dusk till dark ... The one with more detail, i just adjusted the Levels.

As for the taxi shot, well...i did not do any adjustments...

I guess I prefer the more lit version. It is hazy, but provides more information that the first. The taxi shot is a smart shot, but, if it were better illuminated and a little sharper it might work better. Maybe if it were nighttime and lit up too.

Thanks GB, well, as for the first 2, when i first checked the original, it was even darker, and the detail were mere ghosts.... but then i realized someone had changed the brightness on my screen (i hate it when someone uses my computer without permission)...anyway...

As for the taxi shot... well... i was going for this image, and the AF was fooling around (well yes AF....why not?) and it focused on the taxi....the light was out anyway, and i had not other equipment than my cam.... i did try to get it later on when i passed by again, for the night shoot... but the cab was gone

I'll post the series once i fix them... these i wanted to share even before the post-edit....

I see what you were aiming for... the fellow there is interesting. I wonder what he's looking at? Night shots are a hassle sometimes but I think that the Taxi sign all lit up with some other lights behind it would be a great shot.

Well if you must know... hehehe... i did go there and check...i was just as curious... and it was no big surprise really.... he was checking and reading an obituary (it was pasted on the wall of the building)...

The night shots i took (IMHO) were awesome (i love them.... hassle or no hassle)... here's a couple i particularly like ( but no more.... the rest when they are ready :mad2:

ISO 3200 so bear with me on the grain! and as for the flower shop.... the colors...i lost them in quick edit for web display..... ummmm....sorry...

#1 the darker one speaks volumes on the desolation and runs of the building.

I prefer the later taxi picture as it is all about the person looking at whatever, shows a typical street seen with loads of traffic and people going about their business. Shame about the fuzzy light bits on the bottom of the shot.

The flower shop is nice, needs a little more room on the right.

I do not like the hedge shot.

The fuzzy bit at the bottom, i unfortunatly were unable to get rid of during the shot... i was in such a hurry to get the guy.... and it was my original photo...

The flower shop, i have others, with different compositions, these i will post later...

As for the hedge, anything in particular, or simply not like it??

I'm not a 100% sure but it could be the composition or:

I think it could be the lack of definition of the building, and the white spot which is the lamp are my main concerns. To get a decent shot of this you will probably need to take a shot of the hedge, the lamp and the building and then merge all three to get a decent photo.

I can't quite figure out what it is.

i guess i'm just a sucker for low light.... tend to loose myself in it...

As for taking them again...well..... maybe if i travel back someday.....hehehe

I really like both taxi shots. And when viewed simultaneously they could make an interesting story.

For your first picture I think the light one is too light and the dark one too dark. I think somewhere in between would be really good. I do love the interesting viewpoint though.

I'll give it a shot and see what works... thanks...

As for the story, well i am trying to formulate my whole shoot as a travelogue but on the scale of one single street over the spread of about 4 hours!

dunno though... will keep you posted!
